We invite area businesses and individual sponsors to help in our mission.

HAPA is asking area businesses to support the visual arts programs of Highland Community Unit School District No. 5.  Parents of current art students recently formed HAPA to actively support the art teachers and students of Highland Community Unit School District No. 5 as they foster creativity and an appreciation of the visual arts.  To achieve this mission, we hope to raise funds for the art departments, provide our students with opportunities to develop their talents, and encourage the school district and area businesses to showcase student artwork.

Recent budget cuts have impacted the art departments of our schools.  As a result, the art teachers have articulated immediate needs including general art supplies, a sink in the art room at Highland Primary, a classroom projector for the art room at Highland Primary/Elementary and Grantfork Elementary, and Drawing Tablets at the High School necessary for students to create graphic art projects required for college application portfolios.  Consequently, we are asking you to make a financial contribution to support the art departments of Highland Community Schools so that they can afford the equipment and supplies they need to provide our community’s children with an excellent education in art.  Remember that every donation makes a difference, regardless of size.  If you are able to contribute, please mail checks made payable to HAPA to Robin Ermer, 1216 8th Street, Highland, IL  62249.  In return for your generosity, we will acknowledge your support on our website and facebook page.

We are also looking for area businesses to showcase the talents of our students by displaying student artwork.  If your business is willing to display student works, please email Sarah Friedrich. Again, we appreciate your support and look forward to partnering with you as we promote the art department of the Highland Community Schools.

Thank you in advance for your support!
